My husband is an artist. My daughter is an artist. I am…well…I try.
Back in May 2017 I said goodbye – no, more like good riddance to my uterus. She and I…we just never got along like you’re supposed to. She was such a pain and wanted more space than I could physically give her so, I set her free.
If you’re interested in my journey, I wrote about it on my blog. Here are the links to the posts.
Before my surgery, I had a “Goodbye Uterus, it was going to be a corn boil but corn is too expensive in New Brunswick in May, BBQ!” and to make things festive, I drew pictures of my uterus, like you do, and hung them up around my house. They brought much joy and confusion to my guests, which is what art is all about is it not? Make your audience question life with your art?
Anyway, I found the drawings amusing and when Inktober 2017 rolled around, I decided to explore the prompts with a theme. In my mind, after my uterus and I said goodbye, she went off to have amazing adventures without me. Again, it brought up questions, mainly, “Are you ok?” Which I was and am. As with many of the things I do creatively, I was just being silly.
So, enjoy my silly featuring my uterus in “The Adventure Continues…”
